Amtrak has regular service from PENN STATION to Rhinecliff, New York from points North and South. Call 800-872-7245 for schedule information and necessary reservations. METRO NORTH has regular service from GRAND CENTRAL STATION to Poughkeepsie, no reservations required.
Local rentals are suggested through RUGE'S SUBARU in RHINEBECK. National names: Enterprise & Hertz are available in Kingston, 15 minutes away. Enterprise will pick you up and drop you off at the train or the inn.
*Summer 2016 Bridge Closure Notification*
NYS-DOT has advised the Towns of Red Hook, Milan, and Rhinebeck that the Sawkill Bridge at Rock City will be replaced, impacting traffic at the Fork in the Road at Rtes NY-199 and NY-308. Work began in May 2016 and is scheduled to continue through August 2016. Drivers will be advised to follow detours using Rte 9G and 308. The detour map on the left is provided by the New York State Department of Transportation notification site.

12 miles (15 minutes) from NY Thruway, Exit 19/Kingston & Woodstock& Hunter Mountain
Exit 19 bear RIGHT toward Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge (209N becomes 199)
At second traffic light turn LEFT onto Rte 9G North/Rte 199
Make a RIGHT at the next traffic light to continue on 199 East into Red Hook.
Make a RIGHT at the next traffic light onto Rte. 9 South. Sign will say South Broadway/Mobil is on the corner.
Make a LEFT into the driveway of The Red Hook Country Inn
Parking is at the rear of the inn.
From the Taconic State Parkway North or South
*Due to bridge replacement/closure at NY-199 Sawkill Bridge, please follow these detour-friendly directions*
Take the Jackson Corners Rd Exit, proceed west on Jackson Corners Rd for 3/4 mi and then turn left onto County Rd 56/Turkey Hill Rd. After 6.2 mi the road will end at U.S. 9/Albany Post Rd, where you can see the Cornucopia Deli and Citgo gas station on your right. Carefully turn left (there is limited visibility of traffic on the left) and continue 2.6 mi into Red Hook Village, through the traffic light, and one block on the left to our driveway.
